Its Okay, Not To Feel Okay

I have known Aron now for a number of years and once we got talking about the Priest Foundation I knew I had to do something to help raise funds for such a wonderful cause.

I had the idea for the 6 hour Zwift cycle whilst at work at Spinal Care Clinic in Bentwood. It fitted in with my training plans and cycling is always something I have had in common with Aron. A quick chat with the clinic owner and it was arranged.

We did a combination of online fundraising through Just Giving alongside a raffle within the clinic where clients could guess how far I was going to cycle in the 6 allotted hours.

On the day we set up in the gym and once everything was ready I got going. It was great getting to chat with clients and staff throughout the ride, championing the cause and getting plenty of donations on the day. We actually almost doubled the raised total during that 6 hours!

The ride was a lot of fun and we raised just shy of £1100 pounds in total which totally blew me away.

I think the Priest Foundation plays a vital role in enabling people to access the help and support they need which may be inaccessible under normal circumstances. Now more than ever before mental healthcare is at the forefront of the public’s mind whilst still being a taboo subject for the majority suffering from it in silence.  I can’t wait to help the foundation in any way I can raise further funds in the near future.
